Artist Statement
To me, painting represents the intersection of quiet observational awe, and joyful, engaged play. Spanning across many diverse subjects, styles and processes, my artwork celebrates and explores the visual world with a sense of whimsy and a deep foundational reverence. Our attention is a tool and a gift and I believe that to exercise it with such intentionality feeds the human soul- my own, and hopefully those who view these works.
Bio
Alexandra Schnabel is a painter and art instructor who lives and works in Bucks County PA. Alexandra discovered her passion for oil painting at the Lehigh Valley Charter School for the Arts, and went on to earn her BFA from Pennsylvania Academy of The Fine Arts. She now enjoys creating artwork that explores the human condition and variable emotional experiences in response to the visual world, with themes that ponder the self and relationship with how we engage with the world around us. Her paintings have been shown at venues such as The Allentown Art Museum, The Kimmel Center, Lehigh University and Phillips Mill Galleries. She teaches a variety of classes locally as well as private lessons and creativity mentorship programs out of her home studio.
Her paintings have been shown at venues such as The Allentown Art Museum, The Kimmel Center, Impressionism epicenters Stover mill and Phillips Mill, LUAG, and more. Additionally, she regularly enjoys participating in a variety of solo and group shows. Her work is part of permanent collections such as Lehigh University Art Galleries, and she is pleased to have been the featured artist in Bucks County Magazine in fall of 2025.
